Story:Ch6

I heard trudged footsteps walk down the stairs to the library. I stayed in my peaceful, focussed state but only to find Borso’s face only an arm’s length from mine.’ A message can be sent without words’ I have known this through my entire life and it came in handy right about now. Knowing this, I immediately shut the book, poem and letter inside, shoved it back onto its place on the shelf and moved quickly into the fields. I saw Lidano on my allotted field, obviously tired. I walked up to him, smiled into the winter sun and made him return inside. I worked slowly, distracted as ever. I was considering all the earlier thoughts I had had.

Then I finally decided. I placed the shovel on the ground, quickly got the letter and ‘my’ hymn, and ran through the abbey gates, feeling freer than ever. I had a long way to go from here, but music would save me and bring me through.
